29 “Japanese Historical Cameras” of 2000 Named

The Historical Camera Committee (Chairperson – Ms. MORIYAMA, Mayumi), a review group established within the Japan Camera Industry Institute, has chosen the 29 cameras which were released in 2000.

2000-03-01 Voigtlander Bessa-R Cosina Co. Ltd. Direct-view finder 135 24×36 A Leica-type screw mounting rangefinder camera with direct-view finder at an affordable price.
All parts are the same as the Bessa-L(1999), except the finder.
2000-03-21 Mamiya 645E Mamiya O.P. Co., Ltd. Single Lens Reflex 120/220 45×60 A simplified model of the 645 Pro TL(1997) that uses a film pack and has a fixed finder.
The standard lens is included in the package and is sold at a reasonable price, thus aiming to make 4.5x6cm-sized cameras easier to use.
